HOW
DOES MAGNETIC WATER CONDITIONING WORK?
The Military Engineer is the OFFICIAL Journal for the Society of American Military Engineers. Here are some excerpts from The Military Engineer, Nov-Dec 1993, Volume 85, Number 560, "Water, Magnetic Technology, and Industry."Tests mentioned in this journal were with conducted only with MAGNETIZER® products."Hard water mineral salts being as limestone rock. As water flows by the rock, it creates a potential (the attractive force) and can be measured by voltage. The potential between the water and the rock dissolves the mineral salts and carries the dissolved minerals into plumbing and process equipment. These have a greater potential than water tehreby attract minerals in what is referred ot as seeidng, nucleating and crystallizing back into scale. Applying magnetic treatment to water imitates the phenomenon which occurs in the earth when the limestone dissolves. The magnetic field simply amplifies the potential (electromotive force) in the water, making it greater than the potential of the plumbing; therefore the minerals are re-attracted into the water. Traditionally, phosphate-based chemicals have been used to overcome mineral buildup in plumbing. The phosphates create an electromotive force which dissolves the buildup or neutralizes the potential. The electromotive force potential can be achieved by chemicals or the proper magnetic field. However, because of the effetiveness of new magnetic treatment physics, chemicals become a second and poor choice. Magnetic treatment dissolves the calcite completely throughout, leaving none in the flow lines, tube tubndles, and open air flows such as cooling towers and fountains. Magnetic treatment has other advantages. Magnetized water has a lower surface tension (beause of polarized molecules). This lower surface tension means an increased flow rate, which in turn means that pump motors use less energy and thus lower costs. Furthermore, magnetized water can eliminate the use of expensive surfactants to condition water for cleaning, sanitation, or more efficient fire fighting. Magnetic technology can be the alternative to expensive water treatment. Boilers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, condensers, chillers, and other processing equipment will show enhanced manageability, improved functionality, and less downtime. It can reduce or eliminate the use of chemicals and their hazardous consequences to the environment. And, it can reduce costs." |
